Mayank Sharma is a dynamic and dedicated second-generation aquapreneur involved in shrimp farming. With over five years of industry experience and a strong academic background, he brings innovation, sustainability, and strategic thinking. He holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, and Business Management from the University of Warwick, UK, where his research focused on the use of probiotics to enhance sustainability in Asian shrimp farming.

As the Director – Technical at Mayank Aquaculture Pvt. Ltd. (MAPL), Mayank coordinates operations and leads techno commercial research across nursery and grow-out systems while heading the VIVALINE division, which focuses on healthcare solutions and the distribution of aquaculture inputs. His work centers around improving farm productivity, disease resilience, and sustainable practices that directly benefit farmers.

Inspired by his father, Dr. Manoj M. Sharma, a globally renowned shrimp expert, Mayank blends inherited knowledge with a global outlook and modern techniques. He is committed to advancing the sector by applying next-gen tools such as precision farming, healthcare and biosecurity innovations.

Mayank is also an Associate Partner in Zhingalala, a “pond-to-plate” initiative that delivers premium shrimp products directly to consumers. The venture reflects his passion for value addition, product quality, and consumer awareness.
